Father’s Day is here which means it’s time to shine a spotlight on our main man and celebrate the King of the Castle. Of course, this day, dedicated to honoring everyone’s favorite guy, can look different from family to family, but there are a few common threads that tie us all together, especially when it comes to spoiling him with just the right gift. It’s hard to land on the perfect item for dear old dad but at a certain point, he will have accumulated every BBQ tool ever invented and his closet will simply run out of room for yet another iteration of his go-to shirt. The latest techy gadgets can be a fun purchase, but pops is typically a stalwart of comfort and predictability making the compounding wave of these gifts year after year more likely bound for the kitchen junk drawer than utilized in his everyday life. So how does the fam show the rock of their world how much they appreciate all that he does?

Get Out There and Do Something

If there is one thing most fathers can find joy in, it’s living a little. Dads are the good-time guys in the family and typically won’t say “No” to any invitation that might involve some good old-fashioned fun. They will ride next to you in the front seat of a roller coaster, throw a ball with you all day long, and build sandcastles alongside you until a wave comes and washes your hard work away. Dads love to entertain and to be entertained. So this year, why not gift him a day of play. Instead of cramming your appreciation into a shirt box, spoil dad with a completely out-of-the-box experience that will bring out that boisterous boy from within. Not only will you blow his socks off (last year’s Father’s Day gift), but you will reassure your favorite family man that you get him, you need him, and that he’s pretty much the G.O.A.T.

Promise you- Dad will eat it up like a medium-rare steak.

1. Sports

Take dad out to the ballgame, book him a tee time at his favorite golf course, or set him up to test drive a sportscar at the racetrack. Sporty dads never tire of the adrenaline rush that comes along with a little competition.

2. Food

It’s a fact that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Sign him up for a cooking class, take him to a fancy restaurant, or prepare an at-home tasting with all of his favorite foods.

3. Excursion

Oh the places he’ll go… museums, architecture tour, horseback ride, hiking, biking, boating. Opportunities to be adventurous are endless so pick his favorite thing to do and send him off to do it.

4. Relaxation

Every guy could use a little Zen. Book yours a yoga retreat or a spa day, or run a bath, light some candles and pour him a mom-sized glass of wine for little chill time at home.

5. Family Day

Some dads just want to be dads on Father’s Day. Plan an afternoon for the whole crew at the zoo or pack a picnic for the park. Dads are big kids at heart and can have the most fun simply playing with their people.
